The skills of our apprentice engineers give them the ability to analyse, synthesise and model complex and innovative problems, making them actors in growth and change within international economic issues. IPSI engineers are thus prepared to take on responsibilities for projects, from study to completion, innovation, and research and development in all industrial sectors of activity that are able to support the digital transition. They can assume many responsibilities in the company: production engineer, project manager, consultant, department manager, methods manager, development manager, etc

Course content

Photonics
Sensors, optics, propagation, light-matter interaction, laser, hardware. Instrumentation, characterisation and optical measurements.

Vision
Sensors, lighting, human vision. Production automation, guidance means for an autonomous mobile system, 3D, thermal, X-rays, digitisation, developing and controlling a control station by imaging

Image
Analysis and processing, computer development, algorithms, machine learning, deep learning, software.

Smart-industry
Digitalisation, interface, communication, augmented reality, future vision, cobotics, robotics, smartphone, supervision, predictive maintenance.


Data Engineering (3 years)

This course focuses on the life of data in all its forms. The skills acquired throughout the course will enable graduates to master a theoretical base, design and develop computer applications, manage large batches of data, embed applications on electronic platforms and manage projects. The career opportunities are vast since data is present in all application sectors (health, finance, training, etc.): Data manager, embedded systems engineer, BigData engineer, data scientist, big data architect, IOT engineer, etc.

Last year ingineer under a professional contract or apprenticeship

A professionalization contract is available to students in the final year of the programme who wish to apply their theoretical knowledge and skills to the needs of companies. On the basis of a fixed-term or permanent contract, this opportunity allows the company to recruit a student engineer in the final year of training (bac+5) for a period of 12 months. In this way, the student puts himself at the service of the company, which entrusts him with engineering missions. This arrangement also enables companies to increase their attractiveness and to access the pool of engineering students even before they obtain their diploma.

From February to September: 100% company

Innovation and Digital Mediation (1 year)

Télécom Saint-Étienne, a school of new technologies, is broadening its field of expertise to include digital uses.

The students in our digital communication degrees are trained according to an active pedagogy with workshops, creative sprints… They benefit from equipment and spaces dedicated to these new practices within the IRAM Learning Lab, such as hybrid rooms, a video recording studio, and complementary equipment such as the radio recording studio.
