Engineering cycle

The skills of our apprentice engineers give them the ability to analyze, synthesize and model complex, innovative problems, making them players in growth and change within the context of international economic challenges. IPSI engineers are prepared to take on responsibility for projects, from design to implementation, innovation, research and development in all industrial sectors, and to support the digital transition. They can take on a wide range of responsibilities within the company: production engineer, project manager, consultant, department manager, methods manager, development manager, etc.

Photonics
Sensors, optics, propagation, light-matter interaction, lasers, hardware. Optical instrumentation, characterization and measurement.

Vision
Sensors, lighting, human vision. Production automation, guidance systems for autonomous mobile systems, 3D, thermal, X-ray, digitization, development and control of image-based control stations.

Image
Analysis and processing, computer development, algorithms, machine learning, deep learning, software.

Smart-industry
Digitalization, interface, communication, augmented reality, vision of the future, cobotics, robotics, smartphone, supervision, predictive maintenance.

The theme of this course is the life of data in all its forms. The skills acquired throughout the course will enable graduates to master a theoretical foundation, design and develop IT applications, manage large batches of data, embed applications on electronic platforms and manage projects. The career opportunities are vast, since data is present in all application sectors (health, finance, training, etc.): Data manager, embedded systems engineer, BigData engineer, data scientist, big data architect, IOT engineer, etc.

Data Data storage (databases), algorithms for data analysis, visualization interfaces, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, security. Data processing Programming (C/C++, Java, Python), Web development, operating systems, embedded systems development, software engineering, distributed applications, agile methods. Capture, Transmission, Electronics Instrumentation, wired and wireless transmission, IP networks, communicating objects, real time, secure data exchange.

A professionalization contract is available to students in their final year of the program who wish to apply their theoretical knowledge and skills to the needs of companies. On the basis of a fixed-term or open-ended contract, this opportunity enables the company to recruit a student engineer in the final year of training (bac+5) for a period of 12 months. In this way, the student puts himself at the service of the company, which entrusts him with engineering missions. This scheme also enables companies to boost their attractiveness and gain access to a pool of engineering students even before graduation.

Télécom Saint-Étienne, a school for new technologies, is expanding its range of skills to include digital applications.

Students in our digital communication degrees are trained using an active teaching approach, with workshops, creative sprints, etc. They benefit from equipment and spaces dedicated to these new practices within the IRAM Learning Lab, such as hybrid rooms, a video recording studio, and additional equipment such as the radio recording studio.
