17 students from Télécom Saint-Étienne took part in the 16th edition of “BattleDev”, the biggest programming competition in France.
Nearly 5,000 student developers from 160 schools in France competed against each other from 8 pm to 10 pm on Thursday 26 November, with a focus on algorithmic questions. The objective was to solve as quickly as possible the 6 programming exercises proposed and to pass the associated unit tests, in the language of their choice, among the 12 possible: Python, C, C++, C#, Java, Php, Go, Kotlin, Swift, NodeJs, Scala and Ruby.
Our highly motivated students were able to solve the following scenario: “For one evening, you play the role of one of the greatest investigative journalists of the 21st century. Your new investigation: Find and dismantle a powerful network behind a wave of fake news that seeks to destabilise the upcoming elections in Russia”.
