On 4 November 2025, Télécom Saint-Étienne hosted the third edition of Innovation Day, the first stage in the research programme for students on the FISE engineering course.

New this year: students from international master’s programmes and IOGS students were invited to participate in this day.

 

A look back at the conferences

The morning began at 8:30 am with a lecture by Philippe Colantoni (Hubert Curien Laboratory): ‘Computational Imaging and Computer Vision for Digital Humanities’.

At 9.05 am, Suzanne Bussod, researcher at IFP Energies Nouvelles and TSE alumna, presented From Knees to Stones, Multidisciplinary Research in Image Processing”.

The morning continued at 10:15 with a talk byImène Reghioua (STMicroelectronics): Silicon Photonics: From Research to Industry”.

Finally, at 10.50 a.m., Nourdine Kerboub from the Centre National d’Études Spatiales brought the proceedings to a close with Research and Development for Space Applications”.

Themed sessions to explore research from every angle

In the afternoon, participants were divided into several rooms for sessions covering four main specialist areas: Digital Imaging, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics and Optics/Photonics.

 

At 3:30 p.m., all participants gathered for a coffee break and a poster session, enabling students and doctoral candidates to discuss their work directly with the speakers and researchers.

The day ended at 4:15pm with meetings with companies involved in research and development.
